2001 Mustang GT Cobra clone (Wasn't trying to build one, it just happened!)

2001 Mustang GT 4.6 auto. Shannon (My G/f) found this on craigslist. She really like it and I did too. I really loved my last Zinc Yellow GT. So Shannon, Ubil (RIP), and I piled into her jeep and headed out to Frisco to check it out. It already had some mods (throttlebody, plenum, cold air Cobra brakes). I liked it so we paid $9,000 cash and took it home. I already had a 01 IRS w/ 410's at the house waiting for the car. We put black Bullitts and '03 Mach 1 seats in the car and Eibach prokit on it.

I ended up giving the car to Shannon when I finished my '03 Cobra clone vert. She liked, but it wasn't flashy enough for her. I bought what was left of a 2004 Cobra; which included 2004 Cobra black/black suede seats, Cobra steering wheel, Cobra front and rear bumpers, Cobra hood, Cobra wing and mirrors. I got alot of extra Cobra parts from the wrecked '04 and with her stock parts off the car; I made all my money back and had all her Cobra parts painted the correct yellow then picked up a set of 2004 chrome Cobra wheels w/315 rear tires.

2002 GT to '03 Cobra

My favorite Mustang!! 2002 Mustang GT 4.6 5spd. It had 32k miles on it when I bought it at Jupiter Chevorlet in Garland. It was 100% stock. The first thing I did was add Cobra wheels and an '01 cobra front bumper, Koni yellow struts and shocks, Eibach springs, Cobra airbags and steering wheel, and Cobra brakes. I then found all the '03 Cobra body parts from someone who was parting out a yellow '03.

Next came a built 2001 Cobra 32v motor, which spun a bearing 2 weeks after installation was completed. I let the car sit for 4 months while I drove around a '97 Cobra vert. I sold the vert to buy a 2003 Cobra driveline off a gentleman on dfwstangs for $7,500. I sold the '01 Cobra engine, the 3650 trans and all the wiring out of my car for $3,500. My buddy, Gerald, installed the complete drive line, '03 Cobra gas tank, complete wiring harness, and new computer. It took alot of hard work from him. Then I added chrome '03 Cobra wheels, IRS rear, 410 gears, exhuast and cold air. The car made 401 rwhp so I added a 2.76 pulley and had it re-tuned to make 460 rwhp @ Dallas Mustang. I sold for $17.5k to get out of the payments I had on it. I really miss this car.

2001 Mustang GT convertible Bought it 03 from middlekauf ford in plano was 100% original when i got it. I first added 01 cobra wheels, Then a complete Saleen body kit and wheels. Then back to stock Gt then traded for 01 cobra bumpers, cobra R hood car had 373 gears,shifter,throttle body,cobra wheels,exhuast. Trade it in for my 02 yellow Gt 2001 cobra body kit

2000 Mustang Gt convertible 4.6 auto car Bought it from the Original owner w/blown up motor had been sitting in the garage for a couple of years Found it on Dfwstangs. Had it towed up to Hpp racing were i worked at the time Bought a complete motor and trans from a 03GT that had a interior fire, Bought a 03 cobra IRS rearend for it and All of the exterior 03 cobra parts.
Installed a 2003 cobra dash w/single den radio and 04 Mystic chrome seats,03 cobra gauge cluster,6speed trans,alum driveshaft,410 gears,bbk throttle intake,c&L cold air,chrome strut bar,eibach prokit,bilstein struts and shocks,Upr camber plates,Bear slotted and drilled rotors.
You could not tell it wasnt a real cobra unless you popped the hood. eveything else was 100% cobra
